Watching Julie/Julia...

This week the father of my son ( a.k.a "baby daddy" ) informed me he no longer wanted to attend church together, wanted to cut all emotional ties with me and date someone he has only had a few phone conversations with.. JERK! So it's Saturday and I'm watching Julie/Julia for the first time and if you've ever see it you know she starts writing a blog about her cooking. Well...I've never had much time for cooking so.... this blog is going to be about my journey thru single motherhood.

Today I tried to busy myself by yard sale hunting. I'm not sure what people are thinking when they create a sign on white poster board with pencil markings on it! I can not stop at your sign to read the directions! When I finally arrived at my last location the lady holding the yard sale wasn't even there! She had left her 14 yr old daughter to collect the payments. Every customer would come up offer a price...she'd call her mother...get an answer and hang up the phone. Ridiculous! Not to mention she wanted $25 for a plastic baseball toy box. Its a yard sale!! The box is $30 brand new.

My munchkin, sister, mother and I went to a cultral celebration fair. Beautiful day to walk around and enjoy good food and music. I love being a latina. There is something special about the way spanish people come together and celebrate.

Well, I've got to run for now...munchkin just woke up and its time for a bubble bath!

Hopefully...I can get thru the evening without yelling at his father about his selfishness. Pray that I'll continue to have patience....I sure need it.

  1. Thanks for stopping by my blog and commenting on the cake!

First let me say that I totally know the world of single parenting...I was one from the time my daughter was 3 until last August when she was 8. I thought I'd be single forever, but finally met my current husband and saw that there was a light at the end of the tunnel! I wish you the best! Looking back...I really had some good times being single even though I was unhappy inside. Take advantage of all the time you have with your son!!

About the cake...I actually just drew the crown out on a piece of paper...you can draw half of it and fold the paper. Then I laid that on the cake and traced with a toothpick. Then I lined it with a number 3 tip in black and filled it in with drop flowers. Then added the rest of the details...You can do it! Be sure to post a picture when you finish!! Good Luck!!
